A longtime presence on the market should be an indicator of the device’s quality and performance. So, the expectations are high. We will see how this blender will live up to them.
To Whom it is Indeed?
This is a home-use product, despite the pretty bold “professional” writing in the name. As a domestic appliance, it is made to be simple to use, no training required. It is a fast and effective way to crush and pulverize food (it doesn’t sound so tasty when you talk about food that way) in order to extract all the nutrients out of it. For instance, most of the seeds, although so beneficial for us, will just pass undigested through our system. We need to crush or pulverize them in order to enable our body to digest and use them. That is what this machine is meant to do.
It is also great for making homemade baby food. You can choose high-quality ingredients yourself and you will know that the food is fresh. It beats supermarket variety at any time.
What’s Included in Package?
In the box, you will find a Ninja motor base, 72-Ounce Pitcher, a lid with a locking handle, Ninja stacked blade, 2 16-Ounce cups with spout lids, Instructions and a Warranty.

Ninja BL740 Review: Overview of features
This is not a small appliance. The dimensions are 7.2 x 9 x 17 inches, and the weight is 7.11 pounds. It is quite tall, so you may have trouble finding a place for in the cabinets. Of course, you can leave it on the kitchen countertop and you will not be ashamed, because this is a nice looking device. It is plastic all around, but not a cheap one, so overall impression of build quality is good. It has some nice features to make save room, like an opening in the back of the base that you can push the cord in to. Unfortunately, it’s small to fit the entire cord and the cord doesn’t go in very easy.
You will like
Powerful motor. 1100 Watts are quite sufficient to grind, crush and pulverize anything you can think of, and want to eat. It will crush ice and frozen food in no time. Keep in mind that blending frozen foods will make a lot of noise.
BPA free. All the parts that come into contact with food are made from materials that do not contain very harmful Bisphenol-A. That is especially important if you are planning to use it for making baby food.
Easy to use and clean. No needless buttons or functions, It has 3-speed settings for different types of food, and that is basically all that you need. No need to cut food into small pieces, so that will save you some time. All parts, except the base, are dishwasher safe, so the cleaning part is also taken care of.
Large pitcher and 2 single serve juice cups with lids. After making your smoothie, you can take it with you, or keep it in the refrigerator. Single serve cups are also important because some combinations of ingredients actually get better mixed in the small cups.
You may not like
Sensitive lid for the pitcher. If you are not careful and use force on it, it might break, and replacing just the lid is not possible, you have to by the whole pitcher
Uneven performance. With some food combinations, you might need to use small juice cups instead of a large pitcher. They provide better consistency for smoothies
The noise. Some users report that it can be loud, especially when crushing ice or frozen food. Fortunately, it doesn’t last long, because the blender is fast.
There are a lot of competitors, a lot of them even from the same manufacturer, so we have decided to compare the Ninja BL740 with some other Ninja products.
Ninja BL740 vs Ninja Smart Screen CT650
It has the same large pitcher, but no small single-serve cups. The engine is slightly weaker, 1000 Watts compared to 1100 Watts in Ninja BL740. The upside is it has a LED touchscreen and Auto-iQ Technology. These 4 timed pre-set patterns of pulsing and pausing will enable you to make your favorite type of drink or food in a minute. Another advantage of the CT650 is the slightly lower price.
Ninja BL740 vs Ninja BL688
This blender has more power, 1200 Watts compared to 1100 Watts, and an Auto-IQ technology that allows you to press a button for your desired food, and the machine will choose the speed and time needed. It is also BPA free. The price of this juicer is slightly lower than the Ninja BL740, but it lacks the small single-serve cups.
Ninja BL740 vs Nutri Ninja Blender BL580
This juicer has a large advantage of FreshVac Technology. FreshVac Pump is designed to preserve vitamins, flavors, and colors by removing oxygen before blending. The downside is that it is not an automatic process, you will have to manually use the pump, and then blend. This blender has Auto-IQ selection of programs for specific types of food, and an 1100 Watts motor. Besides the motor, the price is also similar. The drawback is the lack of a large pitcher, you will receive only 24 oz. Single-Serve cup with a lid.
