- 2 cups of chopped pineapple
- 1 cup of chopped pear
- ¼ inch ginger peeled (keep Reading even if you don’t have fresh ginger)
- a tiny pinch of freshly ground pepper water
How to Make Pear and Pineapple Juice
Place all of the ingredients in your blender until you get the desired consistency. Add the water slowly. Remember you can add more but it is hard to remove it! Many will question black pepper with fruits but it adds a nice kick and brings out the flavor of the ginger.
In terms of health, pears are very high in fiber. They will help you stay feeling fuller for longer. You will get more health benefits you blend the pear with the skin on, it also saves you a bit of prep time. Pineapple is rich in vitamins and can help with weight loss.
Where do we start with ginger! It can help with nausea, loss of appetite, pain, and inflammation. Not everyone keeps fresh ginger, especially if you aren’t likely to use it. Two options: 1) chop it into small cubes and keep it in the freezer. Take out pieces when you need it. 2) You can buy powdered ginger. You might find that keeping it in the house will encourage you to use it.
If you want to add a twist to this fruit juice you can poach your pears first. We recommend poaching in apple juice or even red wine. The alcohol will all be cooked off but it will produce a deep rich color and an added depth to the juice. Don’t forget t let the pears completely cool before you make your juice. If you are going to poach them first you might prefer to remove the skins.
The amount of juice you make will depend on the water you have added, but you should get around 4 glasses.
